HP Spectre x360 13 (Late 2017) Review
HP Spectre x360 Review!2017
Take it from me: reviewing a great laptop is so much more fun than reviewing a mediocre one. A case in point was the late HP Spectre x 13, which I considered the best degree convertible 2-in-1 around. Ironically, that meant I approached my review of the Spectre x 13 with some trepidation. How could it be better? This new model makes major changes to my favorite 2-in-1, and HP is asking a premium for it.
The HP Envy x is an affordable, inch 2-in-1 that looks nice but suffers from a lackluster screen. Big-screen 2-in-1 laptops, the target of the shopper who wants it all, often come with trade-offs. Consider the HP Envy x, a convertible notebook with a slick look, a huge, inch display and sweet sound. Unfortunately, its screen is quite blah, its hinges are weak and its battery life is short, even by the admittedly low standard for large notebooks. Still, this notebook offers a decent number of perks at a price that's more affordable than most of its competitors, making it worthy of checking out. The Envy x is made in silver Intel and black AMD designs, and features the sleek design aesthetic that HP keeps exclusive to its mid- to high-end laptops.
The HP Spectre line of 2-in-1 laptops and Ultrabooks has built up a reputation for including ultra-power and ultra-portability over the years. And, the HP Spectre x 15 leans more towards the former, with beefy Intel Kaby Lake Refresh silicon, a flexible hinge and a fingerprint sensor. And, it works: this laptop has been out for a year, but the HP Spectre x 15 is still keeping up with its Whiskey Lake -equipped competition. Is Microsoft planning a 2-in-1 laptop with a foldable screen? Windows 10's first update has already started beta testing. This laptop even packs enough battery juice to make it a contender for the classroom and office alike. But, in the face of so many rivals, it can be hard for the Spectre x to get attention.

HP Spectre x360 review
Switching between laptop and tablet mode occurs quickly, without any delay or stuttering as Windows 10 switches between modes. The Intel Core iU is an 8th generation processor that was launched last year, with four cores and eight threads, as well as a base frequency of 1. In our day-to-day use, the HP Spectre x performed well. For a 2-in-1 laptop, it offers a smooth experience. For students going away for college, the HP Spectre x is an alluring choice, thanks to its versatility. With the Spectre x, HP has managed to produce a powerful laptop that runs full Windows 10 with a battery that lasts people beyond a full work day.
If you bought a Spectre x even a month ago, you may be slightly aggravated to learn that HP now ships it with active pen support. A pen even comes in the box as an included accessory. A 4K UHD option for the screen is available, too. With these additions, the x now has every major feature you could want from an ultraportable. The only thing keeping the Spectre x from rising even further above its peers is the small price you pay for these upgradesópartially in cold, hard cash, partially in performance. But even without changing its position in the pack, this notebook is still the convertible to beat. The Fall right and Spring Spectre x left are virtually the same, save for a few additional features in the model.
